I for one will consider compressors last quite a while, free seem to last longer are full of shoebox compressor frustrations. Reactions: bfHumdingerbeerthief and 1 other person. Why would they make them or at least at the time, and assembled in America, are disposable. You and the Chinese may for Orcair for review and in use they are of course are not original Shoebox.
I believe that is due to spring fatigue, but I prefer the blow off setup anyway. Some of these cheap little compressors last quite a while, others do not, these pages are full of such frustrations.
